So I have told you where to eat in Antigua and now I thought I would share where one might grab a bite to eat if they found themselves at Shoal Bay in Anguilla. But first things, why Shoal Bay, well it's not only the nicest beach on the island but it is also one of the nicest beaches in the world. US News Travel rates it #5 in the world, the TravelChannel.com rates it #1 beach in the Caribbean as does Frommer's. Jay Eatz thinks it might be a tossup between Shoal Bay and 11 Mile beach (A.K.A. Princess Diana beach) in Barbuda but it's a very difficult call. You can judge for yourself. vs Anyways you're not in Barbuda and your hungry in Anguilla so let's get back to the point, where to eat? Jay Eatz recommends Hank's Island Carousel (called Mac and Hank's on TripAdvisor). One great thing about Hank's is free beach chair and umbrella with the purchase of lunch so you're winning even before you had a bite. Chair and umbrella ranges from $5 to $15 each up and down the beach. Here is a look at the menu: All and all not that bad price wise. Myself and the miss's opted for the lobster and our travel companions went with the burgers. The burgers looked good and the companions agreed. As for the lobster, rock lobster of course served with coleslaw and fries, bang on delicious. Hank also sells Carib Lager so Jay Eatz was in heaven. Unfortunately the gentleman sitting next to us informed us about another Hank treat just a little too late as we had already ordered. This treat he called crayfish. Hank brought one out from the kitchen to show us what we were missing out on and Jay Eatz and the miss's will be ordering it on our next visit. Now the internet will tell you crayfish and lobster are the same thing, but in Anguilla crayfish are apparently indigenous to the Island, taste better and cost less. I know reading up on it gave me a headache but if you go be different and rock a crayfish. Here are a few more pics of the ambiance at Hank's.
