I ordered another Carib while we waited which wasn't long. The roti's were ready in about 5 minutes and wrapped nicely to go. A quick tear through the wax paper wrapper and we were good to go, Carib in one hand, roti in the other.
Jay Eatz and the G.F. have recently returned from a trip to Grenada. Lovely place and we both recommend you should go. While you are there, a trip to the neighboring Island of Carriacou is a must (same country, different island). A quick 90 minute ferry ride or a 20 minute flight and you are there. We did both. It's a little crazy when you arrive at the dock in Hillsborough. Be ready for every taxi cab driver to pounce on you. Haggle with them if you go in the off season for a better rate or take the bus. A great cabbie in Carriacou is Uncle Polo. If you don't see him in Hillsborough at the dock give him a ring at 419-1757. He can do Island tours for $200 ec as well or just take you to the beach and pick you up before your flight or ferry departs. Back to the topic at hand, so you're hungry in Carriacou, but where should you eat? One option could be Laurena II, Jerk Center in Hillsborough. After some TripAdvisor research it was at the top of my list. We strolled down to Laurena's just before 11 a.m. and they were just getting ready to open for the day. The G.F. and I were pumped and asked if jerk chicken was on the menu that day? Reply: not today, jerk pork is today's special. Heartbroken we left although I did grab a Carib to go. We decided to head back towards the dock area and try to negotiate a taxi or catch a bus to Paradise Beach. Out of nowhere the "Today's Special" at this establishment caught our eye's. Chicken roti, the next best thing to jerk chicken and only $8 ec, sold. We strolled into the Reef and placed our order. There is a small bar as you walk in with a couple of stools. The outer walls of the room have been encircled with slot machines where it appears tables and chairs once stood (slots may becoming Grenada's new favourite pass time). I ordered another Carib while we waited which wasn't long. The roti's were ready in about 5 minutes and wrapped nicely to go. A quick tear through the wax paper wrapper and we were good to go, Carib in one hand, roti in the other. The photo above was taken about half way through the roti. It was packed with tender potatoes and huge chunks of chicken (not boneless so be careful). Well seasoned with curry and it had a subtle heat. It was also the only thing we eat between our 7 a.m. breakfast and our 7 p.m. dinner. Very filling and great value for the $8 ec. So if you're craving jerk chicken and the jerk center is out, give Reefs a try for a roti.

I am really hunger, and my hunger is not something that can be filled with food. I say that I am hungry, but what I mean, is that I am hungry for evolution. I want to change, I want to be a better person. I know that I am just sitting idly while I wait for the world to bring me to a better place, and it is not really working out for me. I want to learn how to be a better person.
